Frequently Asked Questions

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a form of medicine that focuses on natural remedies and the body's ability to heal itself. It emphasizes prevention and holistic approaches to health and wellness, taking into account the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person's well-being. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) use a combination of therapies, including herbal medicine, nutrition counseling, lifestyle modifications, physical medicine, and sometimes acupuncture or homeopathy, to treat and prevent illness. NDs aim to work integratively alongside conventional medical practitioners and often recommend integrative approaches to healthcare.

What is the difference between traditional acupuncture and dry needling?

The main differences between traditional acupuncture and dry needling lie in their underlying theories, therapeutic applications, and the training required for practitioners. Traditional acupuncture is rooted in TCM principles and addresses a wide range of health concerns, while dry needling targets musculoskeletal issues based on Western medical concepts of trigger points and muscle function.

Do you offer direct billing?

We offer direct billing for insurance, but in the event that the direct billing process encounters issues, patients are kindly requested to pay in full at the time of their visit. They can then submit their receipts to their insurance provider for reimbursement.

We encourage patients to contact their plan administrator to determine if their insurance plan covers naturopathic or acupuncture services before booking an appointment. Please note that our organization is unable to verify coverage for these services, and it is important for patients to clarify this information with their insurance provider.
